Mental Health and Wellbeing
Mental health and wellbeing
We all have mental health, often it is good and at other times we need help. This page is intended to reach out to all members of our community; children, parents and carers, staff and the wider Eastham community.
At Heygarth we are working towards a whole-school approach to promoting mental health. This means that our policies, environment and ethos are all put together to try to promote positive Mental Health of our whole community.
You will see above our school mental health policy and how we are working towards supporting everyone to maintain good mental health. This year we so proud to achieve a a School Mental Health award, which recognises our community approach to positive mental health for all.
If you are concerned about your own or your child’s mental health please contact school and we will signpost you to either support we can offer in school or to the relevant agency.
Please see below a directory of resources to support mental health.
In a mental health emergency (crisis) you can call the NHS on 111 and select the mental health option to talk to a mental health professional.

We are proud to announce that we are a myHappymind Bronze Accredited school!
This means that as a school we consider the mental health and wellbeing of our children as one of our top priorities. We have created a whole school culture that helps build our children's resilience, confidence and self esteem as well as teaching them how to self regulate in those stressful times.
This Accreditation badge has been awarded thanks to all the effort our staff, children, governors and parents have put in to bring the lessons of myHappymind to life all around our school!
