In Mathematics, we will cover Fractions, where we will look at mixed numbers, improper fractions and equivalent fractions, Time, converting units of time and Decimals up to 2 decimal places.

We will be concentrating on extending vocabulary and varying sentence structures within our writing. We will also be writing character descriptions, informal letters and diary entries. We will be taking part in discussions and debates and we will be writing descriptive narratives.

In science, we will be learning all about Living things including humans. We will be looking at the digestive system.

Elm and Birch have P.E. on Tuesday & Friday

Both English and Mathematics homework will be set every Friday. Homework will be set on Century and the children will have to complete it by the following Wednesday.
Children will be given 6 orange words (during RWInc Spelling lessons) which they will write in their spelling books. They will be practicing these in school and at home, before being tested on them. Children will be expected to go on-line and complete ‘Times Table Rockstars’. Every child has their own log in.
All pupils in year 4 will have two reading books: a school reading book especially catered to their reading ability and level and a reading for pleasure book. Pupils will need to bring in both reading books and their personal reading log to school every day.
