Our topics during the Summer term will be based around 'Technological Advances' and 'Life Skills'.
Our work on Technological Advances this half term will focus on how recent, new and emerging technology has an affect on our daily lives. We will look at modern history of mobile phones over the last 50 years and think about trends in changes of the technology and fashion in phones. Geographically, we will also locate cities around the world which are deemed to be the most technologically advanced, and study the different time zones that they are in. We will link this work to our English book of Stormbreaker by Anthony Horowitz and design and advertise a new gadget that Alex Rider could use on one of his missions.
-
PE: This half term, our PE slots are Tuesday afternoons (health and fitness) and Friday afternoons (orienteering). Children will need to come to school in their PE kits on both of these days. Please ensure that children wear correct approved PE kits which can be found in our school uniform policy. Both sessions are due to take place outdoors on either the school playground or playing fields.
-
Children should be encouraged to read at home for at least 10 to 15 minutes each night. All children will have a ‘Learning to Read book’ based on their level and ‘Reading for Pleasure book’ from either the class library or school library.
Homework will be delivered through Google Classroom. Paper copies will also be available in the classroom if children would prefer to collect one.
-
SATs will take place during the week of 11/5/26.
The full timetable of end of year celebration events will be shared with you as soon as they are available.
These will include leaver’s play, entrepreneur’s week, year 6 leavers party, netball and football matches against the teachers.
